How does the Fossil record fit in with what the Bible teaches?

   The earth’s land surface today has lying under it, a giant layer of sedimentary rock containing animal and plant fossils.  Fossils can only be formed by pressure and chemical reaction.  This massive laying down of silt; sand; mud; and other deposits had to happen very quickly in order to stop the decay process of these plants and animals (cutting off of Oxygen supply) found in this rock layer all over the earth.  This could only have happened during a catastrophe such as Noah’s flood.  The evolutionists use the fossil record as their most important evidence.  But the creationist point of view and the worldwide flood better supports the existence of fossils.
