Was there really an ice age?
Yes! It started after the flood and lasted 700-800 years. It didn’t begin millions of years ago! We have a young earth that is deteriorating since the fall of man. Before the fall (Genesis 3), man lived in a beautiful, warm environment. After the vapor canopy condensed (waters above the earth) and fell to the ground during the deluge (the flood), the perfect atmosphere was no longer present (Genesis 1:6, 31 7:11, 8:2). The two poles of the earth became bitterly cold and ice sheets spread. As the peat bogs grew around the ice sheets they produced great amounts of carbon dioxide which, in turn went into the atmosphere to create a mini-greenhouse effect. This helped warm up the earth again and the ice sheets began to melt back. The book of Job tells of the ice sheets (Job 37:9-10, 38:22-23, 29-30).
