Was there really a worldwide flood that destroyed the world?

   The Bible specifically says the world was destroyed by a flood (Genesis 6 & 7).  The flood wasn’t a small one (2 Peter 2:5, 3:5-6).  All scientific evidence points to a worldwide flood because of the billions of dead things in a sedimentary rock layer around the whole earth (fossils) laid down by water.  Jesus believed in the flood (Matthew 24:37-39, Luke 17:26-27)!  Over 200 cultures recorded a flood story in one form or another.
