What is wrong with listening to Rock; Metal; Country; or Rap Secular music?

   It’s not the instrumental or type of music that is the real problem, but instead it is the "message" that is predominantly found in music today!  The great composer Bach said, "The end of music should be to the glory of God and the refreshment of the human spirit."  Music is a very spiritual art that can change laws, form character, and topple societies.  Lenin (a Russian communist-atheist) who was a master at subversion and revolution said, "One quick way to destroy society is through its music."  Aristotle said, "Music has the power to form character." 

   The music we listen to has an inside track into the sub-conscious of our minds.  The auditory nerves are the most predominant of all the senses.  God has instructed in his Word which cautions against how the enemy of our soul (Satan) will use various means to try to destroy us.  The Bible says, "Abstain from all appearances of evil” (1Thessalonians 5:17).  Any music which goes against the Commandments of God and the principle teachings of his Word is sinful and will began a process of subtle destruction.  "Casting down imaginations and every thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ,” (2 Corinthians 10:5).  The battle is for your thought life. Whatever you think on brings forth emotions, which in turn produces actions that result in habits that forge your nature and character..

    A good number of your most famous musicians and vocalist are admittedly followers of Satan, false religions, New Age, and the occult.  They said they are given inspiration to write and play music from spirit and demon guides.  The words they sing convey hidden and very direct overt messages against God and His Kingdom.

    We are admonished to think on only good things in Philippians 4:7-9.  Unfortunately most people have underestimated music’s power over people.  Plato once said, "When modes of music change, the fundamental laws of the state change with them. Through foolishness they deceived themselves into thinking that there was no right or wrong in music; that it was to be judged good or bad by the pleasure it gave."  How true this is today! The book of Isaiah states, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter.” (Isaiah 5:20).

    An old rocker - David Crosby (Crosby, Stills. Nash) - blatantly told Rolling Stone magazine that through his music he could alter an audience’s value system and steal them away from their parents. The Bible admonishes the parents to bring their children up in the ways of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4, Deuteronomy 6: 3-10).  The vast majority of musical lyrics today are destroying society and sending people on the highway to hell!!  Why has subliminal programming been outlawed?  Music and media are very powerful mind manipulators.  They are more dangerous than drugs because nobody takes music and media manipulation seriously.  The average teen in the 7th - 12th grade has listened to 11,000 hours of Rock N’ Roll music.  As he/she becomes a college student with the advent of IPODS the hours of exposure increases.  It is no wonder that we have a society in rebellion.  What will you do about it?  Is music your Godly or not?  Follow the Lord Jesus Christ!
