How do you know the Bible is true? It’s a book written by Men!

   The Bible is the one true Word and written by God inspired men. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine (teaching), for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works (2 Timothy 3:16)."  The Bible is written by God inspired men.  These individuals wrote the books of the Bible as they were moved by God’s Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:21). "But there is a spirit in Man: and the inspiration of the Almighty gives them understanding” (Job 32:8). 

   The Bible was written by 40 different authors (Kings, peasants, fisherman, philosophers, poets, scholars, statesmen, herdsmen, a tax collector, a doctor, a military general, Rabbi, and a Prime Minister) over a 1500 hundred year time span (forty generations).  It was written on three continents in different languages.  Understanding this background and seeing how all the books from Genesis to Revelation are so intricately connected in its proclamation of truth is enough to prove its origin and source.  This book has survived time, persecution and criticism.  "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but My Words shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:35).  Voltaire a noted French philosopher, once stated that in 100 years from his time Christianity would be swept from existence and passed into history.  But what happened?  Only 50 years after his death the Geneva Bible Society used his press and house to produce stacks of bibles.

    God has provided a wealth of evidence for the unbiased seeker to show that the Bible has been divinely authored!  So what evidence are you willing to accept as evidence?  For example, the scriptures reveal God as a great mathematician who measures and numbers all things.  Ivan Panin was a converted Russian Nihilist (a Harvard scholar/mathematician) who discovered a mathematical code throughout the whole Bible.  This has been found in no other literature in existence.  Dr. Panin has submitted conclusive scientific proof that the Bible could not have been produced by the unaided human mind.

   The Laws of Common Probability in regards to the prophecies dealing with the birth, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ shows the authenticity of the Bible.  No other professed holy book declares prophecies like the Bible - and they all come to pass.  The Bible has made over 300 plus prophecies.  The Laws of Probability are not abstract and are depended upon by many organizations such as large insurance companies and corporations.  In fact, of you take just seventeen of the hundreds of prophecies given regarding Christ, the odds against the prophets correctly guessing all seventeen prophecies are one chance in 480 Billion x 1 Billion x 1 Trillion!  All of these prophecies were recorded 500 or more years before the event took place. Remember, over 300 were given!

    Archaeological evidence is also overwhelming in favor to support the authenticity of the Bible. Whenever a discovery has been made the Bible had already previously mentioned the culture and where it was located.  Even the Smithsonian Institution has recognized the Bible as the greatest historical record that exists (even though the flood story is denied).  From a historical standpoint the Bible should be studied!

    The moral code (10 commandments) reveals a divine perfection on how man should treat one another.  This code has never been improved upon because "love" is foundational to all of man’s needs.  The Bible teaches to look upon other people’s needs ahead of our own.

    The Word of God does require an individual to make a choice to see if its true and inspired (Matthew 7:7-11,Proverbs 1:24-33, 2:1-5). But ultimately it takes Faith. "But without faith it is impossible to please Him;” (Hebrews11:6). One must take His word and read and pray for understanding.  God will be faithful and show you that His Word is true and written by the inspiration of the Creator of the universe. "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17).  The question is, will you be sincere and call out to God and ask Him to reveal who He is and if the Bible is the ultimate truth?
