If God is love how can He condemn people to hell? I’m a good person!

   God is love (1 John 4:16).  He is also holy, just, righteous, and ruler of the universe (Isaiah 45:21-22).  But this God who is a God of mercy is also a God of justice!  "Behold therefore the goodness and the severity of God” (Romans 11:22).  Many people call themselves good, but by whose and what standard?  "There is a way which seems right unto a man, but the ends thereof are the ways of death” (Proverbs 14:12).  The Word has said that man has broken God’s moral absolutes.  "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23).  We all have broken His commandments!  Have you ever lied, stolen or lusted?  We deserve His justice, but instead God offers mercy and grace!  He shows us His love by clearly warning us about His judgment for disobedience. "In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of His power” (2 Thessalonians 1;8-9). 

   God is light and His nature and character cannot allow sin in heaven (1 John 1:5-6).  A man absent of holiness will not see God (Hebrews 12:14).  God makes provision for all to be saved (Romans 2:11) and is not will for any to perish (2 Peter 3:9).  He has set down a plan and man must respond or he will face the judgment of God (Romans 1:18-32, 2:1-16).  "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).  People choose to rebel and God does everything He can to prevent it by offering His love.  You have a free will choice (Romans 10:13) and without it no true love can exist.  God has no pleasure in the death of the wicked (Ezekiel 18:23)!  Hell shows the seriousness of breaking God’s laws and how He values His children who keep them.  “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:16-17).  God loves and desires the best for you!
