INTRODUCTION:

There are many religions; belief systems; and philosophies that exist in the world today.  This certainly can be confusing, as there are many voices calling out to you claiming they have truth.  Who is right? Who and what should I believe?

What if it's true that Jesus is the only way?  Wouldn't it be wise and logical to investigate the matter further?  What if there is a literal Heaven or Hell?  Listed are the various comparisons to Biblical Christianity.  Included below are the various religions; cults; philosophies; and belief systems that exist in the world today.  Take a comparative look and see for yourself.  What is the Truth? Whatever you decide will determine your eternal destiny this is how important it is for one to investigate this topic!

SECTION 2 - BIBLICAL CHRISTIANITY BASIC TEACHINGS

Key Person/Founder:  Jesus Christ. Founded about A. D. 30-33, in the Judean province of Palestine, [which is Israel today] under the Roman Empire.

Key Writings: The Bible, written originally in Hebrew [Old Testament] and Aramaic [New Testament], and Greek.

Who is God?

The One God is triune - a tri-unity.  The word "one" in this verse (Deuteronomy 6:4) below is a compound "one" and not a singular "one".  Christians do not believe in 3 Gods - but ONE!

"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!"

It is one God in three persons, not three gods:

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Often the title "God" designates the first person, and God the Father. God is a spiritual being without a physical body. He is personal and involved with people. He created the universe out of nothing. He is eternal, changeless, holy, loving, and perfect.

Who is Jesus?

Jesus is God, the second person of the Trinity. As God the Son, He has always existed and was never created. He is fully God and fully man [the two natures joined, not mixed]. As the second person of the Trinity, He is co-equal with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. In becoming man, He was begotten through the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. Jesus is the only way to the Father, salvation, and eternal life. He died on a Cross according to God's plan, as full sacrifice in payment for our sins. He rose from the dead on the third day, spiritually and physically a mortal. For the next 40 days, he was seen by more than 500 eyewitnesses. His wounds were touched and he ate meals. He physically ascended to heaven. Jesus will come again visibly and physically at the end of the world to establish God's kingdom and judge the world.

Who is the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit is God, the third person of the Trinity.  The Holy Spirit is a person, not a force or energy field.  He comforts, grieves, reproofs, convicts, guides, teaches, and fills Christians. He is not the Father, nor the Son, Jesus Christ.

How is one to be saved?

Salvation is by God's grace, not by an individual's good works.  Salvation must be received by repentance (turning away and forsaking of sin) and by faith.  People must believe in their heart that Jesus died for their sins and physically rose again, which is the assurance of forgiveness and resurrection of the body.  This is God's loving plan to forgive sinful people.

What happens after death?

Believers go to be with Jesus.  After death, all people await the final judgment. Both saved and lost people will be resurrected.  Those who were saved live with Jesus in Heaven.  Those are lost suffer the torment of eternal separation from God in Hell.  Jesus' bodily resurrection guarantees believers that they, too, will be resurrected receive new a mortal bodies.

Other Beliefs or Practices:

Group worship, usually in churches.  No secret rites.  Baptism and the Lord's supper [Communion]. Active voluntary missionary efforts.  Aid to those in need: the poor, widows, orphans, and downtrodden. Christians believe that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah promised to Israel in the Old Testament [Tanakh].  Jesus said his followers would be known by their love for one another!

SECTION 3 - BIBLICAL CHRISTIANITY VS. ISLAM

NOTE:  See special video section for Muslims

Islam is at the forefront in the news since 911 and we need to have not only a basic understanding, but also some in depth knowledge of this world religion.  Many people lives and nations are being impacted and will continue to be touched in the coming years - especially America!

We have taken extra time to provide more information in this section about Islam so the American student can gain a keen understanding of what this world religion believes. Every American will be affected by future world events that will result from terrorism.  Islam has two faces.  Westerners are being deceived as Islam has a plan for world domination that is intent on forming a state with Sharia law.

We have included a large composite DVD section by Zakaria Bothros (a Coptic Christian Priest from Egypt) which would be very revealing for any Muslim who desires to gain new insights regarding Christianity and its comparison to Islam.

The information below is not anyway designed to hurt or denigrate any Muslim people. Many are loving and kind and respected in various communities. As in many movements though, there are always those who take beliefs to such extremes that it hurts the whole and affects many of those around. We love the Muslim people but hate the destroying influences of Islam.

As the subject of Islam is explored the teaching and doctrine can be scrutinized fairly and open to constructive criticism as well as Christianity itself. Truth will always stand the test if it is TRUTH! Let us begin to explore ISLAM.

The majority of Muslims are ignorant of what the Koran and Hadiths really teach.  The doctrinal points below must be challenged and proven wrong if so.  Christians and truth seeking Muslims must be made aware of errors and contradictions.  We desire  Muslims to remain Muslim but become followers of Jesus Christ.  Eternity hangs in the balance.

[ISLAM]
Who is God?
God, [Allah] is one. God revealed the Koran to Mohammed through the angel Gabriel. God is a severe judge and will sometimes be merciful, and is not depicted as loving.

[CHRISTIANITY]
Who is Jesus?
Jesus is God, the second person of the Trinity. As God the Son, he has always existed and was never created. He is fully God and fully man [the two natures joined, not mixed]. [ISLAM]
Who is Jesus?
Jesus is one of up to 124,000 prophets sent by God to various cultures. Abraham, Moses, and Mohammed are others. Jesus was born of a virgin, but is not the son of God. He was sinless, but not defined or God himself. He was not crucified. He ascended to heaven without dying. He is referred to as Messiah and Ayatollah - the sign of God. Jesus will return in the future to live and die.

[CHRISTIANITY]
Who is the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is God, the third person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit is a person, not a force or energy field. He comforts, grieves, reproofs, convicts, guides, teaches, and fills Christians. He is not the Father, nor the Son, Jesus Christ.

[ISLAM]
Who is the Holy Spirit?
The Koran refers to Jesus as spirit of God. Muslim scholars see the angel Gabriel as the Holy Spirit.

[CHRISTIANITY]
How is one to be saved?
Salvation is by God's grace through faith, not by an individual's good works. Salvation must be received by repentance (a turning away from and forsaking of sin) and by faith. People must believe in their heart that Jesus died for their sins and physically rose again, which is the assurance of forgiveness and resurrection of the body. This is God's loving plan to forgive sinful people.

[ISLAM]
How is one to be saved?
Humans are basically good, but fallible and need guidance. The balance between good and bad deeds determines eternal destiny in Paradise or hell. God's mercy may tip the balances, but it is arbitrary and uncertain. Good works are emphasized!

[CHRISTIANITY]
What happens after death?
Believers go to be with Jesus. After death, all people await the final judgment. Both saved and lost people will be resurrected. Those who were saved live with Jesus in Heaven. Those are lost suffer the torment of eternal separation from God in Hell. Jesus' bodily resurrection guarantees believers that they, too, will be resurrected receive new a mortal bodies.

[ISLAM]
What happens after death?
There is a resurrection of bodies. The final day of reckoning and rewards. Eternal paradise for those who believe in Islam. Eternal hell for infidels, or for those who reject Islam.  There are 70 plus virgins awaiting men who have pleased Allah.

[CHRISTIANITY]
Other Beliefs or Practices:
Group worship, usually in churches. No secret rites. Baptism and the Lord's supper [Communion]. Active voluntary missionary efforts. Aid to those in need: the poor, widows, orphans, and downtrodden. Christians believe that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah promised to Israel in the Old Testament [Tanakh]. Jesus said his followers would be known by their love for one another!

[ISLAM]
Other Beliefs or Practices:
Followers are called Muslims. They go to Mosques for prayers, sermons, and counsel. They practice Jihad, which are wholly efforts to spread Islam in various ways. There are five pillars of Islam: they confess that Allah is the one true God and that Mohammed is his prophet. They pray five times daily facing Mecca. They give alms or money. They fast during the month of Ramadan and make pilgrimage to Mecca once in a lifetime.

EXPANDED ISLAM COMPARISON SECTION!
(REASONS WHY THE KORAN IS NOT THE WORD OF GOD)

WHAT MUSLIMS CLAIM THE TRUTH
It is 100% Arabic It has over 125 foreign words
It was written by God It is written in the dialect of someone living in 7th century Mecca
It has no grammatical errors It has many grammatical errors
The text is perfect with no conflicting variant readings. It has thousands of conflicting variant readings.
The original manuscript still Exists today. There was no original manuscript. It was originally written on bones, bark, palm leaves, stones etc.
No words were ever lost Many Suras were lost and some taken out by Uthman.
It has no human author - Allah wrote it! Mohammed was the human author.
It did not come from any pre-existing historical or cultural sources but was written in heaven from all eternity The sources of the stories and doctrines in the Koran have been identified. They come from Jewish, pagan, and Christian sources.
It has no contradictions. It has many contradictions.
It confirms the Bible. It contradicts the Bible.
It has no scientific errors It has scientific errors.
It has no historical errors. It has many historical errors.

FIVE REASONS WHY ALLAH IS NOT GOD

  1. The word "Allah" (from al-ilah) was one of the titles of the Moon-god in Arabia. He was married to the Sun-goddess and the stars were the "daughters of Allah." The symbol of the Moon with several stars next to it referred to the Moon-god Allah and his daughters.
  2. The pagan Moon-god Allah was worshipped by:
    • Praying several times a day toward Mecca
    • Taking a pilgrimage to Mecca
    • Running around the Kabah seven times
    • Caressing the black stone
    • Throwing stones at the devil
    • Sacrificing a sheep
    • Giving alms to the poor
    • Fasting during the day for the month that begins and ends with the moon in its crescent phase
  3. Mohammed was raised in the religion of the Moon-god. His pagan father and uncle even had "Allah" as part of their name in honor of the Moon-god. The influences are very evident in the Koran.
  4. Mohammed took the name, symbols, rites and ceremonies of the pagan moon-god religion and renamed it Islam.
    • Using a crescent moon and stars on mosques, minarets, flags, etc.
    • Praying several times a day to Mecca
    • Taking a pilgrimage to Mecca
    • Running around the Kabah seven times
    • Caressing the black stone
    • Throwing stones at the devil
    • Sacrificing a sheep
    • Giving alms to the poor
    • Fasting during the day for the month that begins and ends with the moon in its crescent phase
  5. Allah is not the God of the Bible
WHAT MUSLIMS CLAIM THE TRUTH
Allah God of the Bible
Unknowable Knowable
Not limited by his nature Limited by His nature ? Love!
Not a God of unmerited grace A God of unmerited grace
Nor the savior of His people The Savior of His people
The greatest deceiver (Sura 3:54) A God of Truth
Not a Trinity A Holy Tri-unity
Never incarnate Incarnate in Christ

FIVE REASONS WHY THE TRI-UNITY OF GOD IS TRUE!

[Islam denies the Tri-Unity of the Godhead of Biblical Christianity]

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! (Deut. 6:4)

  1. The Bible teaches that there is but one, true, eternal, living Being who is God by nature and Maker of heaven and earth and that this one true God exists in three persons: The Father, the Son and Holy Spirit.
    • There is a Person called the Father who is identified as God in both the Old and New Testament (Isa 63:15-16; 2 Tim. 1:2).
    • There is a Person called the Son who is identified as God in both the Old and New Testament (Isa.9:6; John 20:28).
    • There is a Person called Holy Spirit who is identified as God in both the Old and New Testament (Psa.139:7; Acts 5:3-4)
  2. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit together comprise the one name of the One true God (Matt. 28:19-20).
  3. Anyone who denies the Father or the Son is an anti-Christ.
"Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also." (1 John 2:22-23)
  4. Since Muhammad denied the Father and the Son (Sura 6:100-101) he was an antichrist.
  5. Mohammed mistakenly thought that Christians believes in three gods, the Father, the Mother (Mary) and the Son (Sura 5:76 cf.v.116). This error in the Koran reveals that it is not the Word of God.

[CHRISTIANITY]
Who is God?
The One God is triune a tri-unity. The word "one" in this verse (Deuteronomy 6:4) below is a compound "one" and not a singular "one".

"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!"

It is one God in three persons, not three gods: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Often the title "God" designates the first person, and God the Father. God is a spiritual being without a physical body. He is personal and involved with people. He created the universe out of nothing. He is eternal, changeless, holy, loving, and perfect.

[MORMONISM]
Who is God?
God the Father was once a man, but became God. He has a physical body, as does his wife, [Heavenly Mother]. There is no Trinity. There is no Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. They are three separate gods. Worthy men may one day become gods themselves.

[CHRISTIANITY]
Who is Jesus?
Jesus is God, the second person of the Trinity. As God the Son, he has always existed and was never created. He is fully God and fully man [the two natures joined, not mixed].

[MORMONISM]
Who is Jesus?
Jesus is a separate God from the Father, Elohim. He was created as a spirit child by the Father and Mother in heaven, and as the elder brother of all men in spirit beings. His body was created through sexual union between Elohim and Mary. Jesus was married. His death on the Cross does not provide full of atonement for all sin, but does provide everyone with resurrection. Jesus is also Satan's brother!

[MORMONISM]
Who is the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is a God separate from the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit is a fluid like substance by which the Father exercises his influence.

[CHRISTIANITY]
How is one to be saved?
Salvation is by God's grace, not by an individual's good works. Salvation must be received by repentance (a turning away from and forsaking of sin) and by faith. People must believe in their heart that Jesus died for their sins and physically rose again, which is the assurance of forgiveness and resurrection of the body. This is God's loving plan to forgive sinful people.

[MORMONISM]
How is one to be saved?
Resurrected by grace, but saved [exalted to Godhood] by good works, including faithfulness to church leaders, Mormon baptism, tithing, ordination, marriage, and sacred temple rituals. No eternal life without Mormon membership.

Jesus? bodily resurrection guarantees believers that they, too, will be resurrected receive new a mortal bodies.

[MORMONISM]
What happens after death?
Eventually, nearly everyone goes to one of three separate heavenly kingdoms, with some achieving godhood. Apostates and murderers go to Outer darkness.

[MORMONISM]
Other Beliefs or Practices:
No alcohol, tobacco, coffee, or tea. Baptism on behalf of the dead. Two-year missionary commitment encouraged. Door-to-door proselytizing. Secret temple rituals available only to members in good standing. Extensive social network. People of African ancestry not granted full access to Mormon priesthood and privileges until 1978.

SECTION 6 - BIBLICAL CHRISTIANITY VS. SCIENTOLOGY

Who is God?
The One God is triune ? a tri-unity. The word "one" in this verse (Deuteronomy 6:4) below is a compound "one" and not a singular "one".

"Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!"

God is a spiritual being without a physical body. He is personal and involved with people. He created the universe out of nothing. He is eternal, changeless, holy, loving, and perfect.

[SCIENTOLOGY]
Who is God?
Does not define God or Supreme Being, but rejects Biblical description of God. Everyone is a "theaten," or a mortal spirit with unlimited powers over its own universe, but not all are aware of this.

[CHRISTIANITY]
Who is Jesus?
Jesus is God, the second person of the Trinity. As God the Son, he has always existed and was never created. He is fully God and fully man [the two natures joined, not mixed]. As the second person of the Trinity, he is co-equal with God the Father and the Holy Spirit. In becoming man, he was begotten through the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He physically ascended to heaven. Jesus will come again visibly and physically at the end of the world to establish God's kingdom and judge the world.

[SCIENTOLOGY]
Who it is Jesus?
Jesus is rarely mentioned in Scientology. Jesus was not the creator, and not an "operating thetan" and in control of supernatural powers, cleared from mental defects. Jesus did not die for sins.

[SCIENTOLOGY]
Who is the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is not part of this belief.

[SCIENTOLOGY]
How is one to be saved?
No sin or need to repent. Salvation is freedom from reincarnation. One must work with an "auditor" on his "engrams" [hang-ups] to achieve the state of clear, then progress up the bridge to total freedom.

Jesus? bodily resurrection guarantees believers that they, too, will be resurrected receive new a mortal bodies.

[SCIENTOLOGY]
What happens after death?
Hell is a myth. People who get clear of in engrams become operating thetans.

[SCIENTOLOGY]

[JEHOVAHS WITNESSES]
Who is God?
One-person God, called Jehovah. No Trinity. Jesus is the first being that Jehovah created.

[JEHOVAHS WITNESSES]
Who is Jesus?
Jesus is not God. Before he lived on earth, he was Michael, the Archangel. Jehovah made the universe through him. On earth he was a man who lived a perfect life. After dying on a stake - not a Cross, he was a resurrected as a spirit; his body was destroyed. Jesus is not coming again; he returned in visibly in 1914 in spirit. Very soon, he and his angels will destroy all non Jehovah's Witnesses.

[JEHOVAHS WITNESSES]
Who is the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is impersonal and not God, but rather an invisible, active force from Jehovah.

[JEHOVAHS WITNESSES]
How is one to be saved?
You are to be baptized as Jehovah's witnesses. Most followers must earn everlasting life on Earth by door-to-door work. Salvation in Heaven is limited to 144,000 anointed ones. The number is already reached.

[JEHOVAH?S WITNESSES]
What happens after death?
The 144,000 live as spirits in Heaven. The rest of the righteous, the great crowd, lived on earth, and must obey God perfectly for 1000 years or be annihilated.

[NEW AGE]
Who is Jesus?
Jesus is not the one true God. He is not a savior, but a spiritual model, and Guru, and is now an Ascended Master. He was a New Ager who tapped into divine power in the same way that everyone can. Many believe he went East to India or to Tibet and learned mystical truths. He did not rise physically, but grew into a higher spiritual realm.

[NEW AGE]
Who is the Holy Spirit?
Sometimes a psychic force. Man has been divine and can experience psychic phenomena such as contacting unearthly beings.

[NEW AGE]
How is one to be saved?
Need to offset bad karma with good karma. Can tap into supernatural power through meditation, self-awareness, T. M. and spirit guides. Use terms such as re-born for this new self-awareness.

Jesus? bodily resurrection guarantees believers that they, too, will be resurrected receive new a mortal bodies.

[NEW AGE]
What happens after death?
Human reincarnations occur until person reaches oneness with God. No eternal life as a resurrected person. No literal heaven or hell.

[CHRISTIANITY]
Who is God?
The One God is triune - a tri-unity. The word "one" in this verse (Deuteronomy 6:4) below is a compound "one" and not a singular "one".

[HARE KRISHNA]
Who is God?
God is Lord Krishna. Krishna is a personal creator; the souls of all living things are part of him. Writings say Krishna once divided himself into 16,308 forms to mate with 16,308 female cowherds.

[HARE KRISHNA]
Who is Jesus?
Jesus is not important to this group. He is usually thought of as an enlightened vegetarian teacher who taught meditation. He is not an incarnation of God. Some Krishna devotees consider Christ to be Krishna. Others say Jesus is a great avatar or teacher.

[HARE KRISHNA]
Who is the Holy Spirit?
The Holy Spirit is not part of this belief.
